About Me

"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. What the world needs is more people who have come alive." Howard Thurman

To come alive, as I've flourished into the person I am today, is to serve and advocate, to explore my local and global community. To volunteer in an Emergency Room referred to as the gun and knife club, supporting patients in their most vulnerable state. To travel the globe, providing food to moms and babies living with AIDS in a South African squatter camp. To hold infants in Haiti who are malnourished or who lost parents in the earthquake. To dance with young girls in Cambodia, bringing them joy and light as they recover from years of trauma being trafficked. To raise three children, each a priceless gift. To explore the brilliance and beauty of this life that was meant to be lived with purpose and passion.

To come alive, during times of change and transition, similar to living through a pandemic, racial injustice, wildfires, blizzards, grocery store shootings and an election, is to breathe. To emit hope. To seek inspiration in unexpected places. To learn in untraditional spaces. To innovate within creativity. To tell those around you, "you can do this and I believe in you". To believe in yourself. To see light and feel warmth. To reinvent yourself yet know that you are enough. To be kind and be brave. To seek stillness and practice self care. To get outside, move your body, find gratitude for good health. To make sure you're ok. To check on your neighbors. To teach your children. To inhale, exhale and repeat.

To come alive, as a dreamer, is to document life's sacred moments through visual storytelling. The moments that cannot be articulated through written nor spoken word. The monumental moments and the microscopic moments. The in between moments. The moments of "firsts" and moments of "lasts". The moments of new and the moments of old. The moments of darkness and the moments of light. The moments of here and the moments of there. The moments of sorrow and the moments of bliss. The moments of yesterday and the moments of today. The moments of loss and the moments of renewal. Moments that define your existence. Moments to look back on, to reflect upon, to learn from, to grow from, to remember, to share, to take pride in, to cherish, to cling to, to feel and to absorb emotions within the life you've created.
